“Illegitimate Business” is essentially a Golgari (black-green) gain land, so it would fit best in slower B/G midrange, control, or lifegain-synergy decks—especially in Limited or budget Standard environments—where the 1 life and color fixing matter more than speed; it helps stabilize against aggro and ensures consistent mana for two-color decks that aren’t highly tempo-sensitive. However, in most competitive formats there are strictly better options: **Overgrown Tomb** (shock land) offers untapped flexibility, **Blooming Marsh** and **Deathcap Glade** often enter untapped in the early or mid game, **Llanowar Wastes** provides immediate access to both colors at the cost of minor life loss, and **Woodland Cemetery** or **Restless Cottage** offer stronger upside with similar fixing.
