Envelop would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's strategy by countering their key sorcery spells. While Envelop is a decent option for its low cost, more versatile and powerful options like Counterspell or Mana Leak may be better choices for a control deck. Envelop could see play in specific metas where sorcery spells are prevalent, but in general, there are stronger options available.
