About Elspeth, Undaunted Hero

Elspeth, Undaunted Hero, Legendary planeswalker — elspeth, designed by Steven Belledin first released in Dec, 2019 in the set Theros Beyond Death and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Elspeth, Undaunted Hero would be a great addition to a white-based aggro or midrange deck in Magic: The Gathering, as her abilities can help buff creatures and provide card advantage with Sunlit Hoplite. However, in competitive play, she may be overshadowed by more efficient planeswalkers like Gideon, Ally of Zendikar or Elspeth, Sun's Champion, which offer stronger board presence and immediate impact. Overall, Elspeth, Undaunted Hero could see play in more casual or themed decks, but may not be a top choice for competitive decks seeking optimal performance.

Rules

01/24/20

Colorless and generic mana symbols (, , , , , and so on) in mana costs of permanents you control don’t count toward your devotion to any color.

01/24/20

Hybrid mana symbols, monocolored hybrid mana symbols, and Phyrexian mana symbols do count toward your devotion to their color(s).

01/24/20

If you put an Aura on an opponent’s permanent, you still control the Aura, and mana symbols in its mana cost count towards your devotion.

01/24/20

The value of X is determined only as Elspeth’s last ability resolves. Once that happens, the value of X won’t change later in the turn even if your devotion to white changes.
