About Azorius Justiciar

Azorius Justiciar, Creature — human wizard, designed by Chris Rahn first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

Azorius Justiciar would be a strong addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a powerful tempo swing by detaining up to two of your opponent's creatures. While it may be a bit costly to cast, its ability to neutralize threats and disrupt your opponent's board state can be invaluable in the right matchup. Other similar cards like Reflector Mage may offer more versatility, but Azorius Justiciar could still see play in certain metagames or strategies that prioritize control and disruption.

Rules

04/15/13

If a permanent’s activated ability is on the stack when that permanent is detained, the ability will be unaffected.

04/15/13

The static abilities of a detained permanent still apply. The triggered abilities of a detained permanent can still trigger.

04/15/13

When a player leaves a multiplayer game, any continuous effects with durations that last until that player’s next turn or until a specific point in that turn will last until that turn would have begun. They neither expire immediately nor last indefinitely.

10/01/12

The two creatures can be controlled by the same opponent or by different opponents.
