This Armor of Thorns card could be beneficial in a green aggro deck looking to pump up its creatures quickly and efficiently. However, there are potentially better options available, such as Rancor, which provides a similar power boost but also has the benefit of returning to your hand if the enchanted creature dies. Whether Armor of Thorns should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck it's being considered for.

The sacrifice occurs only if you cast it using its own ability. If you cast it using some other effect (for instance, if it gained flash from Vedalken Orrery), then it won’t be sacrificed.
