Jeon So-nee

Jeon So-nee is a South Korean actor whose screen work has moved between independent cinema, television, and Netflix productions. Born on March 20, 1991, she entered feature films through the 2017 drama After My Death. The film, directed by Kim Ui-seok, follows a schoolgirl drawn into suspicion and ostracism after another student's death. Jeon played Han-sol, one of the students surrounding the case. The movie became a notable Korean independent release and introduced her to audiences outside commercial television. In 2018, she made her television drama debut in Encounter, playing Jo Hye-in, a young employee at the hotel company central to the series. Encounter paired Song Hye-kyo and Park Bo-gum in a romance shaped by class and public scrutiny. Jeon's Hye-in was part of the workplace ensemble around Cha Soo-hyun and Kim Jin-hyuk. In 2020, she took the younger version of Yoon Ji-soo in When My Love Blooms. Lee Bo-young portrayed Ji-soo in the present-day storyline, while Jeon and GOT7's Park Jin-young played the characters during their university years. The series reconnects the pair after more than two decades and contrasts their student activism and romance with their constrained adult lives. Her 2023 film Soulmate placed her opposite Kim Da-mi in a story of a long, complicated friendship. Jeon played Ahn Mi-so, while Kim played Go Ha-eun. Director Min Yong-keun's film adapts the 2016 Chinese movie Soul Mate and follows the women from childhood through separations, artistic ambitions, romance, and adult consequences. Her performance as Mi-so gave the film its restless, outward-looking half of a relationship defined by devotion as well as misunderstanding. Later in 2023, Jeon led Netflix's A Time Called You as Han Jun-hee, a woman grieving her dead boyfriend. The Korean series reworks the Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day and sends Jun-hee into 1998, where she inhabits the life of Kwon Min-ju and encounters characters played by Ahn Hyo-seop and Kang Hoon. In 2024, she starred as Jeong Su-in in Parasyte: The Grey, Yeon Sang-ho's live-action Korean adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki's manga. Su-in survives a parasite attack when the organism fails to take complete control of her brain; their uneasy coexistence drives the series. That role requires Jeon to portray both a woman under pursuit from the anti-parasite Grey team and the changing voice sharing her body. She also headlined the 2024 historical drama Queen Woo as Queen Woo Hee, amid a Goguryeo succession crisis following the king's abrupt death.
