A deck focused on draining your opponents' life total would benefit from including Spirit of Malevolence, especially in a black-based control or midrange strategy where you can repeatedly trigger its ability. While it can be a decent inclusion in such a deck, there are potentially more efficient cards like Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Kokusho, the Evening Star that offer similar effects with greater impact, making them better choices in most scenarios. However, if you're looking to create a budget-friendly or themed deck, Spirit of Malevolence could still see play for its synergies and thematic appeal.
