Soul Barrier, Enchantment, designed by Harold McNeill first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's creature-based strategy would benefit from using Soul Barrier, as it punishes them for playing creatures unless they pay extra mana. However, there are better options available such as Counterspell or Mana Leak, which offer more versatile and immediate control over the opponent's spells. Soul Barrier may not see much play in competitive settings due to its limited impact compared to other more efficient counter spells.

A “creature spell” is any spell with the type Creature, even if it has other types such as Artifact or Enchantment. Older cards of type Summon are also Creature spells.
