This card, Silent Specter, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's hand size and resources. Its ability to make the opponent discard cards upon dealing combat damage can be quite powerful in slowing down the opponent's game plan. However, in a competitive setting, there are stronger cards that offer similar effects more efficiently, such as Liliana's Specter or Hypnotic Specter, which have lower mana costs and additional abilities. Silent Specter could see play in more casual or themed decks, but in a highly competitive environment, it might not be the optimal choice.
