This card would be beneficial in a control deck focused on tapping down and controlling the opponent's creatures, especially in a deck that can easily generate multiple creatures to help with the convoke cost. While Referee Squad offers a unique effect with its stun counter ability, there may be better options like Reflector Mage or Deputy of Detention that provide more immediate and versatile removal options, making it less likely to see play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.
