About Price of Progress

Price of Progress, Instant, designed by Richard Kane Ferguson first released in Jun, 1998 in the set Exodus and was printed exactly in 8 different ways.

Price of Progress is a powerful card that would benefit aggressive red decks looking to quickly deal damage to opponents. However, it may not be ideal in decks that rely heavily on nonbasic lands themselves. A potentially better alternative for similar effect could be Flame Rift, which deals 4 damage to each player for just 1 R, but without the land dependency. Price of Progress can definitely see play in certain metagames where nonbasic lands are prevalent, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the specific deck and strategy being employed.
