Oath of Mages, Enchantment, designed by Keith Parkinson first released in May, 2020 in the set Exodus.
A deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and aims to keep the opponent's life total lower than their own would benefit from using Oath of Mages, as it provides a consistent source of damage to the opponent. However, there are better cards for this purpose, such as Lightning Bolt, which offers more direct and efficient damage for the same cost. Oath of Mages may not see much play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks due to its conditional nature and the availability of stronger options.
