This card, Kaya, Bane of the Dead, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on removing key creatures from the opponent's board. While Kaya's ability to bypass hexproof is unique and can be powerful in certain situations, there are other cards like Vraska, Golgari Queen or Liliana, the Last Hope that offer more versatile and impactful abilities for a similar mana cost. Kaya could see play in specific metagames where hexproof creatures are prevalent, but overall, there are better options available for most decks.

If a spell or ability you control targets an opponent with hexproof or an opponent’s permanent with hexproof, and Kaya leaves the battlefield while that spell or ability is on the stack, that player or permanent becomes an illegal target for that spell or ability. This includes Kaya’s own loyalty ability.
