About Joust

Joust, Sorcery, designed by Bram Sels first released in Sep, 2019 in the set Throne of Eldraine.

A deck focused on Knights or creature combat strategies, such as a Knight tribal deck or an aggressive red deck, would benefit from including Joust in its lineup. While Joust provides a temporary power boost to a Knight creature and can potentially remove a threat from the opponent's board, there are more efficient removal options available in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as Lightning Bolt or Path to Exile, making Joust less optimal for competitive play but still a fun inclusion for themed or casual decks.

If either target is an illegal target as Joust tries to resolve, neither creature will deal or be dealt damage.

You can’t cast Joust unless you choose both a creature you control and a creature you don’t control as targets.
