About Hunt the Weak

Hunt the Weak, Sorcery, designed by Raoul Vitale first released in Jul, 2013 in the set Magic 2014 and was printed exactly in 9 different ways.

A deck that focuses on creature combat and aggressive strategies would benefit from including Hunt the Weak, as it provides a way to both buff one of your creatures and remove an opponent's creature in a single card. However, for more competitive play, cards like Prey Upon or Savage Stomp might be considered better options due to their lower mana cost and immediate effect without the need for a +1/+1 counter. Hunt the Weak could still see play in casual or themed decks that aim to synergize with +1/+1 counters or creature fighting mechanics.

Rules

01/19/18

If the creature you control is an illegal target as Hunt the Weak tries to resolve, you won’t put a +1/+1 counter on it. If that creature is a legal target but the other creature isn’t, you’ll still put the counter on the creature you control.

01/19/18

You can’t cast Hunt the Weak unless you choose both a creature you control and a creature you don’t control as targets.
