While it provides a small amount of card advantage by making the opponent discard and mill a card, there are more efficient options available like Thoughtseize or Mind Twist which offer more impactful effects for the same cost. Overall, Horrifying Revelation may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its relatively weak effect compared to other available options.
