A deck focused on generating Eldrazi Spawn tokens would benefit from including Hand of Emrakul, as it offers a powerful creature with the potential for a reduced mana cost through sacrificing these tokens. However, in competitive play, there are likely better Eldrazi creatures with more impactful abilities or easier casting costs that would be prioritized over Hand of Emrakul. Still, in a casual or thematic Eldrazi deck, this card could definitely see play for its flavor and potential synergy with token generation strategies.

Annihilator abilities trigger and resolve during the declare attackers step. The defending player chooses and sacrifices the required number of permanents before they declare blockers. Any creatures sacrificed this way won’t be able to block.

Casting Hand of Emrakul by paying its alternative cost doesn’t change when you can cast it. You can cast it only at the normal time you could cast a creature spell.
