A deck that benefits from Hallowed Fountain is a control deck that relies on having access to both white and blue mana. This card is particularly useful in decks that require flexibility in their mana base and can afford to pay the 2 life to have the land enter untapped. While there may be other dual lands with less of a drawback, Hallowed Fountain is a strong choice for decks that need access to both white and blue mana consistently.

Unlike most dual lands, this land has two basic land types. It’s not basic, so cards such as District Guide can’t find it, but it does have the appropriate land types for effects such as that of Drowned Catacomb (from the Ixalan set).
