A deck that focuses on stalling the game and winning through alternative win conditions, such as a Turbo Depths deck in Legacy, would benefit from using Glacial Chasm. While Glacial Chasm provides excellent protection by preventing all damage that would be dealt to you, there are better alternatives like Dark Depths, which can create a 20/20 flying indestructible Marit Lage token for the same cost without the downside of sacrificing a land and preventing your creatures from attacking. Glacial Chasm could see play in specific strategies that require a defensive option, but it may not be the optimal choice in all scenarios.
