About Corrupted Roots

Corrupted Roots, Enchantment — aura, designed by Mark Hyzer first released in Feb, 2009 in the set Conflux.

A deck focused on disrupting the opponent's life total or utilizing land tapping effects would benefit from including Corrupted Roots in their strategy. However, there are more efficient cards like Contaminated Ground that not only punish the opponent for tapping lands but also provide mana denial. While Corrupted Roots could be situationally useful, it may not be the most competitive choice in most scenarios.

Rules

02/01/09

Corrupted Roots can enchant only a Forest or a Plains. It checks the enchanted land’s subtypes, not its name. If at any time the enchanted land is neither a Forest nor a Plains (due to Unstable Frontier’s ability, perhaps), Corrupted Roots is put into its owner’s graveyard as a state-based action.
