Coastal Discovery, Sorcery, designed by Kieran Yanner first released in Oct, 2015 in the set Battle for Zendikar.
This card, Coastal Discovery, would benefit control decks looking to draw additional cards while also potentially creating a powerful creature to apply pressure. While it offers card advantage and a potential threat, there may be better options for card draw and creature creation in certain decks, such as Sphinx's Revelation for pure card draw or Nissa, Who Shakes the World for land-based creature creation. Coastal Discovery could see play in decks that value versatility and incremental advantage, but its inclusion would depend on the specific strategy and synergy within the deck.

If a spell with awaken has multiple targets (including the land you control), and some but not all of those targets become illegal by the time the spell tries to resolve, the spell won’t affect the illegal targets in any way.

The land will retain any other types, subtypes, or supertypes it previously had. It will also retain any mana abilities it had as a result of those subtypes. For example, a Forest that’s turned into a creature this way can still be tapped for .

You can cast a spell with awaken for its mana cost and get only its first effect. If you cast a spell for its awaken cost, you’ll get both effects.
