Anger of the Gods is a powerful card that would benefit control or midrange decks looking to clear the board of small creatures. While it is effective at dealing with threats, there are better options such as Supreme Verdict or Damnation that provide more flexibility or additional effects. Anger of the Gods could see play in sideboards against aggressive creature-based strategies, but its narrow focus may limit its overall utility in most deck archetypes.

Creatures don’t necessarily have to be dealt lethal damage by Anger of the Gods to be exiled. After being dealt damage, if they would die for any reason that turn, they’ll be exiled instead.
