Alora, Cheerful Assassin would be a great addition to a tempo or control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it can disrupt your opponent's board state by making one of their attacking creatures unblockable and then dealing damage to them when it returns to their hand. While Alora's ability is unique and can be powerful in certain situations, there are other cards like Thassa, Deep-Dwelling that provide similar effects consistently and may be more versatile in various strategies. However, Alora could still see play in decks looking for a surprise factor or a way to close out a game quickly with its life loss ability.
