About Woodland Wanderer

Woodland Wanderer, Creature — elemental, designed by Vincent Proce first released in Oct, 2015 in the set Battle for Zendikar Promos and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

Woodland Wanderer would be a strong addition to a multicolor deck that can consistently produce multiple colors of mana, as it benefits from the Converge ability by entering the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter for each color of mana spent to cast it. While it offers a solid combination of vigilance and trample, there are potentially better options available depending on the specific deck strategy, such as Siege Rhino for its immediate impact on the board or Tarmogoyf for its versatility and potential for growth. Ultimately, Woodland Wanderer could see play in certain multicolor decks that can support its mana requirements effectively.

Rules

08/25/15

If a spell with a converge ability is copied, no mana was spent to cast the copy, so the number of colors of mana spent to cast the spell will be zero. The number of colors spent to cast the original spell is not copied.

08/25/15

If there are any alternative or additional costs to cast a spell with a converge ability, the mana spent to pay those costs will count. For example, if an effect makes sorcery spells cost more to cast, you could pay to cast Radiant Flames and deal 4 damage to each creature.

08/25/15

The maximum number of colors of mana you can spend to cast a spell is five. Colorless is not a color. Note that the cost of a spell with converge may limit how many colors of mana you can spend.
