About Volcanic Rush

Volcanic Rush, Instant, designed by Ryan Barger first released in Mar, 2015 in the set Dragons of Tarkir and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Volcanic Rush, would benefit aggressive red decks that focus on attacking with creatures to quickly deal damage to the opponent. While it provides a temporary boost to attacking creatures, there are potentially better options like Temur Battle Rage or Assault Strobe, which offer more impactful effects for a similar cost. However, Volcanic Rush could still see play in certain aggressive strategies that aim to overwhelm the opponent with a burst of damage in a single turn.

Rules

02/25/15

An “attacking creature” is one that has been declared as an attacker that combat, or one that was put onto the battlefield attacking this combat. Unless that creature leaves combat, it continues to be an attacking creature through the end of combat step, even if the player it was attacking has left the game, or the planeswalker it was attacking has left the battlefield.

02/25/15

Only creatures that are attacking as Volcanic Rush resolves will receive the bonus. In other words, casting it before you declare attackers usually won’t do anything.
