About Veiled Serpent

Veiled Serpent, Enchantment, designed by Bob Eggleton first released in Oct, 1998 in the set Urza's Saga and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A control deck focused on disrupting opponents' spells would benefit from using Veiled Serpent, as it can surprise opponents with a 4/4 creature while also providing card draw through cycling. However, there are potentially better options in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as cards with more impactful abilities or better stats for their mana cost. Veiled Serpent may not see widespread play in competitive decks, but could still be a fun and interesting inclusion for players looking to experiment with enchantment-based strategies.

Rules

10/01/08

Cycling is an activated ability. Effects that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle or Rings of Brighthearth) will interact with cycling. Effects that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul or Faerie Tauntings) will not.

10/04/04

It triggers when the spell is cast, which means it becomes a creature before that spell resolves.

10/04/04

When it turns into a creature, it is no longer an enchantment.
