About Unnerving Assault

Unnerving Assault, Instant, designed by Ron Spencer first released in Jul, 2008 in the set Eventide.

A tempo-oriented Izzet (Blue/Red) deck would benefit from using Unnerving Assault, as it can disrupt the opponent's board while boosting your own creatures, allowing for aggressive plays and maintaining control of the battlefield. However, there are potentially better options like Electrolyze, which provides card draw in addition to damage, or Izzet Charm, offering versatile modal effects. Unnerving Assault could see play in niche situations where its specific effects are valuable, but overall, it may not be a staple in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other options.

Rules

08/01/08

If a creature changes controllers later in the turn, that won’t change how Unnerving Assault affected it.

08/01/08

If the spell is copied, the copy will never have had mana of the stated color paid for it, no matter what colors were spent on the original spell.

08/01/08

The spell cares about what mana was spent to pay its total cost, not just what mana was spent to pay the hybrid part of its cost.
