About Treacherous Urge

Treacherous Urge, Instant, designed by Steven Belledin first released in Feb, 2007 in the set Planar Chaos.

Treacherous Urge would be a valuable addition to a control or midrange deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's strategy by stealing key creatures. While it offers a temporary advantage by providing a hasty creature, the sacrifice clause limits its long-term effectiveness. Cards like Gonti, Lord of Luxury or Agent of Treachery might be better options for a similar effect with more lasting impact, but Treacherous Urge could still see play in specific metagames where creature theft is particularly powerful or if the sacrifice drawback can be mitigated effectively.

Rules

02/01/07

If you don’t control the creature when the ability resolves, the creature won’t be sacrificed. It will have haste permanently.
