Spirit Link is a great addition to a White Weenie or Lifegain deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a consistent source of life gain whenever the enchanted creature deals damage. However, there are better options like Lifelink or Spirit Loop that offer similar effects with additional benefits, making them more versatile choices for competitive play. You only gain the life when the triggered ability resolves. If you are reduced to zero life before the ability resolves, you will lose before gaining the life.
