A deck that focuses on manipulating life totals, such as a life gain/life drain deck, would benefit from using Soul Conduit in Magic: the Gathering. While Soul Conduit can be a fun and unexpected card to play, there are more efficient options available like Sorin Markov, which can directly set an opponent's life total to 10, making it a stronger choice for competitive play. However, Soul Conduit can still be a fun and interesting addition to casual decks looking to shake up gameplay dynamics.

If a player can’t gain life, that player can’t exchange life totals with a player with a higher life total. If a player can’t lose life, that player can’t exchange life totals with a player with a lower life total. In either of these cases, neither player’s life total will change.

If one of the targeted players is an illegal target when the activated ability tries to resolve, the exchange won’t happen. Neither player’s life total will change.
