A deck that relies heavily on protecting its key permanents, such as a control or midrange deck, would benefit from including Rebuff the Wicked. While it is a situational card, it can be powerful in the right matchups to protect your key threats from removal spells. However, there are arguably better options like Mana Tithe or Apostle's Blessing that offer more versatility or protection, so Rebuff the Wicked may not see widespread play in competitive decks.
