About Patron of the Moon

Patron of the Moon, Legendary creature — spirit, designed by Scott M. Fischer first released in Feb, 2005 in the set Betrayers of Kamigawa and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's a key card in 6 combos.

This card would benefit a control or ramp deck that focuses on quickly ramping up its mana base and controlling the board with land-based strategies. While Patron of the Moon offers a unique ability to put lands onto the battlefield, there are better options like Azusa, Lost but Seeking or Oracle of Mul Daya that provide more consistent and powerful ramp capabilities. However, Patron of the Moon could still see play in niche Moonfolk tribal decks looking to take advantage of its synergies within that specific theme.

Rules

02/01/05

You may put zero, one, or two lands onto the battlefield with Patron of the Moon’s ability. The number is determined as the ability resolves. You don’t need lands in hand to activate the ability.
