About O-Naginata

O-Naginata, Artifact — equipment, designed by Brian Snõddy first released in Jun, 2005 in the set Saviors of Kamigawa and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck focused on aggressive strategies with creatures that have power 3 or greater, such as green stompy or red aggro decks, would benefit from including O-Naginata as it provides a significant power boost and trample for a low cost. However, there are better options like Sword of Fire and Ice or Sword of Feast and Famine that offer additional benefits such as card draw or untapping lands, making them more versatile and powerful choices. O-Naginata could see play in specific niche decks that prioritize raw power and aggression over utility.

Rules

08/07/20

O-Naginata becomes unattached if the equipped creature’s power is reduced so that its power is 2 or less, including the +3/+0 from O-Naginata’s effect, as state-based actions are checked.

08/07/20

O-Naginata can become attached to a creature only if that creature’s power is 3 or greater before O-Naginata is attached to it.
