About Moonlit Scavengers

Moonlit Scavengers, Creature — merfolk rogue, designed by Miranda Meeks first released in Oct, 2019 in the set Throne of Eldraine.

Moonlit Scavengers would be a great addition to a blue-based control deck that focuses on artifacts or enchantments. The card's ability to bounce an opponent's creature back to their hand can disrupt their board state, providing tempo advantage. However, there are better options like Brazen Borrower, which offers more flexibility with its instant-speed ability to bounce any nonland permanent, making it a more versatile choice for various situations. Moonlit Scavengers could see play in specific artifact or enchantment-focused decks, but for a more well-rounded and efficient option, Brazen Borrower would likely be the preferred choice.

Rules

10/04/19

Moonlit Scavengers’s ability won’t trigger at all if you don’t control an artifact or enchantment immediately after it enters the battlefield. If you don’t control an artifact or enchantment as the ability resolves, the ability has no effect. These don’t have the be the same artifact or enchantment at both times, however.

10/04/19

You still control Auras that you put onto the battlefield attached to a permanent you don’t control.
