About Moodmark Painter

Moodmark Painter, Creature — human shaman, designed by Scott Murphy first released in May, 2020 in the set Guilds of Ravnica and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck focused on graveyard recursion and creature-heavy strategies, such as a Golgari or Black-Green midrange deck, would benefit from including Moodmark Painter. However, there are potentially better cards like Death Baron or Lord of the Accursed that provide similar effects with more consistent bonuses. While Moodmark Painter could see play in specific graveyard-centric decks, it may not be the optimal choice in competitive environments due to its mana cost and situational effectiveness.

Rules

10/05/18

Creature cards with other types, such as artifact creature cards, count for undergrowth abilities.

10/05/18

The value of X is determined only as the undergrowth ability resolves. If the number of creature cards in your graveyard changes later in the turn, the target creature is unaffected.
