A deck that focuses on protecting key creatures or strategies would benefit from using Mask of Avacyn, as it provides both a power and toughness boost as well as hexproof to keep the equipped creature safe from targeted removal. While Mask of Avacyn is a solid choice, there are potentially better options like Swiftfoot Boots or Lightning Greaves that provide similar protection at a lower cost, making them more efficient choices in most cases. However, Mask of Avacyn could still see play in decks that specifically benefit from the +1/+2 boost it provides in addition to hexproof.

If Mask of Avacyn somehow becomes attached to a creature an opponent controls, that creature can’t be the target of spells or abilities you control.
