This Lazotep Reaver card would benefit a black-based aggro or midrange deck looking to build a board presence quickly with cheap creatures. While it provides a small boost to an existing Army token or creates one if none are present, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Dreadhorde Invasion for a more consistent token generation or other aggressive creatures for a faster clock. Overall, Lazotep Reaver could see play in decks focused on generating token armies or looking for additional zombie synergies.

Army is a new creature type. It’s possible to control a nontoken Army (perhaps a creature with the changeling ability) and, through combinations of other cards, it’s possible to control multiple Army tokens. When instructed to amass, you may put +1/+1 counters on any of your Army creatures, and you may choose a different one each time.
