About Gravitic Punch

Gravitic Punch, Sorcery, designed by Randy Vargas first released in Oct, 2018 in the set Guilds of Ravnica and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck focused on aggressive creature strategies, such as a red aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from including Gravitic Punch. This card can serve as a finisher by allowing a high-power creature to deal direct damage to the opponent, potentially closing out the game. While there may be more efficient burn spells available, Gravitic Punch's jump-start ability provides additional value by allowing it to be cast from the graveyard, making it a viable option for decks looking to maintain pressure and close out games quickly.

Rules

10/05/18

A spell cast using jump-start will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, it’s countered, or it leaves the stack in some other way.

10/05/18

If a card with jump-start is put into your graveyard during your turn, you’ll be able to cast it right away if it’s legal to do so, before an opponent can take any actions.

10/05/18

If the target creature or the target player is an illegal target as Gravitic Punch tries to resolve, the creature won’t deal damage.
