About Fate Transfer

Fate Transfer, Instant, designed by Wayne England first released in May, 2020 in the set Shadowmoor. It's a key card in 1 combos.

A deck focusing on +1/+1 counters or other types of counters could benefit from using Fate Transfer to strategically redistribute the counters for maximum advantage. While Fate Transfer can be situational and dependent on a board state with creatures having counters, it may not always be the optimal choice unless there are synergistic cards in the deck that can take advantage of it. Other similar cards like Vampire Hexmage or Selesnya Charm could provide more versatile options for removing counters or creating token creatures, making them potentially better choices in certain situations. Overall, Fate Transfer could see play in specific counter-focused decks, but may not be a staple inclusion in every deck.

Rules

05/01/08

Fate Transfer moves any kind of counters, not just -1/-1 counters.

05/01/08

If either one of the targets becomes illegal (because it leaves the battlefield or for any other reason) by the time Fate Transfer resolves, the counters don’t move. If both targets become illegal, Fate Transfer doesn’t resolve.
