About Curse of the Forsaken

Curse of the Forsaken, Enchantment — aura curse, designed by William Wu first released in Nov, 2013 in the set Commander 2013 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This Curse of the Forsaken card could be beneficial in a defensive or control-oriented deck that aims to stall the game and gain incremental advantages over time. While it can provide a slight life gain advantage to the opponent's creatures attacking the enchanted player, there are potentially more impactful cards available for a similar mana cost, such as Ghostly Prison or Sphere of Safety, which can deter attacks altogether. Curse of the Forsaken may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other options available.

Rules

10/17/13

A Curse spell targets the player it will enchant like any other Aura spell, and a Curse stays on the battlefield like any other Aura. If the enchanted player gains protection from the Curse’s color (or any other characteristic the Curse has), the Curse will be put into its owner’s graveyard.

10/17/13

Curse is an enchantment type, not a creature type (or any other kind of subtype).

10/17/13

The Curse subtype has no inherent rules meaning, but two cards in the Innistrad set (Bitterheart Witch and Witchbane Orb) refer to Curses.
