About Court of Grace

Court of Grace, Enchantment, designed by None first released in Oct, 2020 in the set Commander Legends and was printed exactly in 9 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

A deck that focuses on maintaining control of the monarch status and generating token creatures would benefit from Court of Grace, especially in a white-based control or midrange strategy. While Court of Grace can be a strong inclusion in such a deck, there are potentially better options like Monarch cards in the form of Palace Jailer or cards that generate consistent token value like Elspeth, Sun's Champion, which may offer more immediate impact or flexibility. Ultimately, Court of Grace could see play in the right deck, but its effectiveness would depend on the overall strategy and synergy within the deck.

Rules

11/10/20

If combat damage dealt to the monarch causes that player to lose the game, the triggered ability that causes the controller of the attacking creature to become the monarch doesn’t resolve. In most cases, the controller of the attacking creature will still become the monarch as it is likely their turn.

11/10/20

If the triggered ability that causes the monarch to draw a card goes on the stack and a different player becomes the monarch before that ability resolves, the first player will still draw the card.

11/10/20

The game starts with no monarch. Once an effect makes one player the monarch, the game will have exactly one monarch from that point forward. As a player becomes the monarch, the current monarch (if any) ceases being the monarch.
