Copper – On the Scent is best suited for an aggressive Ruby-based challenge/control deck that wants immediate board impact, especially builds that focus on removing opposing characters through combat rather than racing for lore. Because he has Rush and Reckless, he functions purely as a removal tool the turn he’s played and in subsequent turns, making him strongest in midrange Ruby/Steel or Ruby/Amethyst lists that can leverage high Strength and combat tricks to dominate challenges. However, at 6 ink, he competes with more efficient or versatile removal options—cards like Maleficent – Monstrous Dragon (direct damage and immediate impact without being forced into bad challenges) or Maui – Hero to All (Rush with strong stats and better survivability) often provide more consistent value without the downside of Reckless.
