This card would fit well in a black-based Mutate deck in Magic: the Gathering, focusing on creating a board presence with powerful mutated creatures while disrupting the opponent's hand with discard effects. While Cavern Whisperer's ability to make opponents discard cards is strong, there are potentially better Mutate cards like Dirge Bat, which offers removal in addition to its mutate ability, making it a more versatile choice for competitive play.

As the triggered ability resolves, first the next opponent in turn order (or, if it’s an opponent’s turn, the opponent whose turn it is) chooses a card in hand without revealing it, then each other opponent in turn order does the same. Then all the chosen cards are discarded at the same time.
