About Blinding Beam

Blinding Beam, Instant, designed by Doug Chaffee first released in Oct, 2003 in the set Mirrodin and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

This card, Blinding Beam, would be beneficial in a white control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's board state by tapping down key creatures or preventing them from untapping. While it offers versatility with its entwine ability, there are potentially better options available such as Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares for creature removal, or Stasis for a more potent untap denial effect. Overall, Blinding Beam could see play in certain metagames or strategies that require its specific effects, but it may not be a staple inclusion in most competitive decks.

Rules

06/07/13

The second mode affects all creatures during the player’s next untap step, including creatures controlled by other players (who may have untapped because of Seedborn Muse, for example) and creatures that weren’t on the battlefield when Blinding Beam resolved.
