About Battle of Wits

Battle of Wits, Enchantment, designed by Mark Brill first released in Oct, 2001 in the set Odyssey and was printed exactly in 6 different ways.

The Battle of Wits card would benefit a deck that focuses on drawing and maintaining a large library of cards, such as a control or combo deck with plenty of card draw and library manipulation. However, due to its high mana cost and specific win condition, it may not be the most efficient win condition compared to other win conditions available in Magic: The Gathering. Decks that aim to win through more traditional win conditions like creature combat or combo finishes may find better alternatives to ensure victory.

Rules

07/01/12

Battle of Wits has an “intervening ‘if’ clause.” This means that if you don’t have 200 or more cards in your library at the beginning of your upkeep, the ability won’t trigger. If the ability does trigger, but you have fewer than 200 cards in your library when the ability resolves, the ability will do nothing.
