Cards like Hero's Downfall or Murderous Rider provide similar removal effects at a lower cost, making them more versatile and efficient choices for competitive play. However, if the deck is looking for additional discard synergy or specific card advantage, Assassin's Strike could still see play in a more casual or themed deck.
