This card could be beneficial in a Sultai (Black-Green-Blue) control or midrange deck that focuses on card advantage and tempo plays. While Abomination of Gudul provides a steady source of card draw, its high mana cost and the requirement to discard a card may limit its effectiveness in faster-paced decks. There are potentially better options for card advantage in these colors, such as Tarmogoyf or Snapcaster Mage, but Abomination of Gudul could still see play in a specific deck looking to capitalize on its unique abilities.
