Watcher of the Spheres, Creature — bird wizard, designed by G-host Lee first released in Jun, 2020 in the set Core Set 2021.
Watcher of the Spheres would be a great addition to a blue-white flying tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it helps reduce the cost of casting flying creatures and also grows stronger whenever another flying creature enters the battlefield. While there may be more powerful options available, such as Sephara, Sky's Blade or Archangel of Thune, Watcher of the Spheres could still see play in decks focused on flying creatures due to its cost reduction ability and potential for growth.

A creature spell that doesn’t have flying won’t cost less even if an effect will cause the creature to have flying once on the battlefield. This is also true if the creature spell itself has an ability that gives it flying once on the battlefield under certain conditions, even if those conditions are true.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Watcher of the Spheres). The converted mana cost of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
