Noxious Bayou Playtest, Land, designed by James Rose first released in Nov, 2019 in the set Mystery Booster Playtest Cards 2019 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Noxious Bayou Playtest would be particularly beneficial in a poison-themed deck, often centered around infect creatures that can quickly accumulate poison counters on opponents, such as those found in a Golgari (black and green) strategy. While it provides mana acceleration and a poison counter, there are arguably better options like Glistener Elf or Blight Sickle for early game pressure or Infect lands like Inkmoth Nexus, which can also serve as a creature. However, if you're looking to enhance the poison counter mechanic while also ramping into larger threats, Noxious Bayou could find a niche in specific builds, especially in casual or thematic formats.
11/12/19
A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game as a state-based action.
