This card, Lightning Cloud, would benefit a red burn deck that aims to deal damage quickly and efficiently. While it can provide additional damage when red spells are cast, there are more efficient cards like Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning that offer direct damage without the need for an extra cost, making them better options for such a deck. Lightning Cloud may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its higher cost and conditional effect compared to other more powerful burn spells available.
